ISLAMABAD: Period of applicability of reduced rate of 0.4 percent withholding tax under section 236-P of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 on bank transactions for non-filers has been further extended till December 31, 2017. The Federal Board of Revenue has issued an amended SRO 983 (1) 2017 in this regard on September 29.
According to a notification issued by the Secretary Rules and SRO Syed Hassan Sardar, the FBR with the approval of Federal Minister in-charge, is pleased to direct that in its notification the amendment shall be made in the aforesaid notification for the word “first day of July, 2017 to thirtieth day of September, 2017 the words “first day of October 2017, thirty first day of December, 2017 shall be substitute.
