Pertamina’s oil, gas production rises 9.8% in first seven months

JAKARTA: State oil and gas firm Pertamina said here the other day that its oil and gas production rose 9.8 percent in the first seven months of the year.

The company recorded that it produced 571,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) between January and July this year, rising from 520,000 boepd in the same period last year.

“Since the beginning of 2015, oil and gas production is on the rise,” Pertamina communication vice president Wianda Pusponegoro said as quoted by Antara news agency.

For oil, Wianda said, Pertamina’s average production in January stood at 259,740 barrels per day (bpd), which gradually increased to 275,000 bpd in July.

Meanwhile for gas, Pertamina’s average production reached 1,621 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) in January and the figure grew to 1,712 mmscfd in July.

Pertamina’s oil and gas production mainly came from the company’s subsidiaries PT Pertamina EP and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, Wianda stated.
