PESCO reduces power outages quota, 209 feeders exempted from load shedding

PESHAWAR: In view of Ramazan, the PESCO Management has reduced the load shedding quota in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, as 209 feeders have already been exempted from loadshedding, said a release of PESCO here Monday.

According to the revised program more relief has been given to the areas where line losses are high. PESCO Management is striving to provide uninterruptible power supply and out of 650 Pesco’s feeders about 209 feeders where line losses are less than 30% is exempted from load shedding.

The feeders having 30 to 40 percent losses will have 4 hours loadshedding, feeders having 40 to 50 percent losses 6 hours, 50 to 60 percent 10 hours, 60 to 80 percent 12 hours, 80 to 90 percent and above 14 hours.

Due to severe heat pressure mounted on the system most of the feeders are frequently tripped, several feeders become over loaded and low voltage problem faced. The PESCO appealed to the customers for energy conservation and avoid illegal use of electricity for the smooth power supply to all the consumers.
