Pesco remove four transformers over non-payment of Rs1.7m dues

PESHAWAR: Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) Wednesday announced to remove four power transformers due to non-payment of dues of about Rs1.7 million in sub division Chamkanai.

According to Pesco, Chamkani Sub Divisional Officer Sajid Bahadar, along with Pesco Police, checked different areas and removed hundred of direct hocks besides four distribution transformers due to non-payment of about rupees 17 lacs pending amount.

Similarly, in another action the officials removed one span conductor at Mera Surizai Battakhasht due to nonpayment of Rs 3 Lacs. Power supply was also disconnected due to default of Rs 6,23,847 and transformer in Kachori feeding from 11 kv Jhagra feeder.

The action was taken on the directions of Chief Executive PESCO Syed Hassan Fazil. He directed the concerned officials to speed up the drive against illegal use of electricity and root-out the power pilferage and kunda culture so that the company’s line losses could be controlled on sound footing.

The PESCO Chief have warned stoppage of power pilferage in the larger interest of the nation.
