Peshawar ASO seizes 5,000 yards smuggled cloth

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Peshawar’s North region, has confiscated 5,000 yards of smuggled cloth during an action in Nowshera.

Deputy Collector Mohammad Amin told Customs Today that a team of anti-smuggling intercepted a bus on Peshawar Highway and conducted the search.

The officials recovered 5,000 yards of cloth from the vehicle and asked the driver to show documents regarding the customs clearance but he remained fail to do the same; therefore the officials seized the cloth under the customs laws.

The deputy collector said that the ASO was striving to eradicate the smuggling causing loss to national exchequer. He added that effective measures were also being taken to increase the revenue collection in the region.
