Peshawar ASO seizes counterfeit items worth Rs71.7m during H1 of January

ISLAMABAD: Peshawar Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) collected Rs71.757 million from January 1st to 15th of financial year (FY) 2016-17.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO recovered above said revenue figures during first 15 days adding that, ASO intercepted many culprits as for as seized huge numbers of offending and non-duty paid vehicles and filed FIRs against possessors.

As per the details Rs38.057 million collected by seized different type of smuggled goods adding that seizers were intercepted different places under jurisdiction of Model Costoms Collectorate Peshawar.

Sources added that during above said period the ASO Peshawar collected Rs27.8 million by impounded 15 offending vehicles adding that, these vehicles played main role to carrying smuggled and banned items to all around the country.

During corresponding period the ASO generated Rs5.9 million to seize different type of non-duty paid vehicle from different location of the jurisdiction.

The ASO seizes during above said period foreign origin fabric, black tea, oil, auto parts, grease, fake cigarettes and mobile phones etc.

Comparing with performance of first 15 day of December FY2016-17 the sources said that during said period the ASO Peshawar collected revenue amounting Rs49 million through seizers of smuggled goods and NDP vehicles.
