Peshawar ASO seizes huge quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs28m

ISLAMABAD: Peshawar Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized three trucks loaded with foreign origin smuggled goods worth Rs28 million.

According to details told by Peshawar Customs Collectorate in the pursuance of credible information the ASO team with the help of local police established checkpost at Khazana village, Charsadda Road Peshawar and intercepted three trucks bearing registration numbers Z-6199-Peshawar, C-2757-Mardan and Z-9117-Peshawar.

Sources added that during the search of the trucks the team recovered foreign origin goods included bridge stone, tyres 640 Nos, Indian gutka 3052 Kg, welding electrodes (China made) 13800 kg, Milano Cigarettes 111 cottons, raison cigarettes 100 cottons, Pine Cigarettes 400 cottons, Napoli Blue cigarettes 05 cottons, business club cigarettes 31 cottons, Mond cigarettes 11 cotton, ladies sweaters 810 Pieces.

Sources added that occupants of the aforementioned three trucks failed to produce any evidence regarded to legal import passion of recovered goods therefore the same along with the trucks were seized under the relevant provision of Customs Act 1969.

The ASO detained three accused namely Rahmat Khan, Guldar Khan and Hakeem Khan were arrested on the spot and FIR has been lodged for further investigation.
