Peshawar ASO seizes items worth 30.8 million in a week

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Peshawar seized smuggled goods worth Rs 30.8 millions in different operations during last week.

Official sources said that the Anti-Smuggling Organization seized almond worth Rs 10 million and smuggle cloth worth Rs 15 million which were illegally transported to Peshawar. During another instance, customs officials have impounded a vehicle worth Rs 2.8 million.

Besides, a jeep worth Rs 1.7 million and another non-duty paid car worth Rs 1.3 million were impounded by Peshawar customs while conducting operation against the smuggler and duty/taxes defaulter vehicles.

Talking to Customs Today the officials of ASO said that department was taking effective measures to swoop down the smuggling and smugglers both in the region.
