Peshawar ASO takes into possession worth Rs357.789m items and vehicles during 20 days

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Peshawar impounded 123 vehicles valued at Rs148.62million during 1st of July to 20th of September Financial Year (FY) 2017-18. The ASO Peshawar made total cases of smuggling goods and smuggled vehicles worth Rs357.789million during said period.

According to details given by Gul Rahman Marwat, Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Peshawar, that, during above said period, the performance of the ASO Peshawar has been satisfactory. During two months and 20 days, the ASO took into possession nine Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles priced at Rs16.00million while it impounded 114 offending vehicles valued at Rs132.6million.
The Collector MCC Peshawar told Customs Today that, during above said period, the ASO Peshawar seized goods worth Rs209.189million. During first 20 days of September FY17-18, the ASO confiscated three NDP vehicles priced at Rs4.5million whereas it seized 32 offending vehicles valued at Rs34.95million. The ASO impounded various kinds of goods worth Rs66.5million.
The collector told CT that, during the month of August, the ASO took into possession three NDP vehicles priced at Rs7.5million while it seized 41 offending vehicles valued at Rs56.85million. The ASO confiscated smuggling goods worth Rs93.174million during August 17-18.
