PESHAWAR: The Customs Auction Cell of the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) earned Rs62.90million All Duties and Taxes from August to April of Financial Year 2016-17.
The Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) held six auctions during above said period. The cell collected Rs51.23m Customs Duty during said period whereas the I&I earned Rs11.06million Sales Tax and the I&I Peshawar collected Rs0.61million Federal Excise Duty on Imports.
During the first auction held in August FY16-17, the I&I collected Rs20.88million Customs Duty (CD), Rs5.85million Sales Tax (ST) and Rs55million Federal Excise Duty on Imports (FEDI). In this way, I&I collected duty and taxes valued Rs27million.
During 2nd auction held during September, I&I earned Rs4.79million all duty and taxes and the I&I Peshawar earned Rs7.92million all duty and taxes through 3rd auction of confiscated smuggled goods and vehicles. The said auction was held during October FY2016-17.
The I&I held 4th auction in November FY16-17 and earned Rs11.68million all duty and taxes through auction. The I&I held 5th auction during December FY16-17 and earned Rs2.76million all duty taxes. The I&I Peshawar held 6th auction of current financial year during the month of April and collected Rs8.47million duty and taxes.
