Peshawar Customs collects Rs 1.12 billion as taxes in May

PESHAWAR: The Model Custom Collectorate Hyderabad performance drastically improved in last month May as it has collected Rs 1.123 billion in wake of duty and taxes.

On the directives of Collector Peshawar, Muhammad Aamer, Anti Smuggling Organisation Peshawar, officials seized smuggled goods worth Rs 222.3 million during last month in 97 cases.

An official said that Collector Muhammad Aamer formed a team under supervision of Deputy Collector Ubaid Ullah and issued directives to launched operation against non duty paid vehicles and the team seized 14 non-duty paid vehicles during said period.

Beside seizers of smuggled goods, Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar collected Rs 388.1 million as custom duty, Rs 505.7 million as sale tax, Rs 214.2 million in wake of withholding tax and Rs 15.6 million as federal excise duty.
