Peshawar Customs collects Rs 1,926m in June 2016

PESHAWAR: The Customs collected Rs 1,926 million during June 2016 while collection during the previous June was Rs 1,868 million, showing 3.28 percent increase in revenue as compare to the previous June which is Rs 61 million extra.

According to information from the statistical section of Peshawar Customs House, Rs 9,41.58 million were collected in the wake of Customs duties in June 2016 while the total collection was Rs 712.39 million during the same period of last year.

In term of sale tax on import the house collected Rs 501.72 million against the figure of previous year of Rs 551.4 million. The difference in rupees was recorded minus Rs 49.81 million while the difference in percentage was recorded minus 9.01 percent.

In head of Sales Tax Levied as Federal Excise Duty on Palm oil the custom house collected Rs 165.51 million in June 2016 against previous June 2015 being recorded as Rs 230.25 million rupees. The total difference in percentage in this section was recorded minus 28.12 percent while the difference in rupees was minus64.74 million.

In head of Federal excise duty on import the custom collectorate collected Rs 19.33 million in June 2016 against the previous year of 2015 which was Rs 24.26 million. The difference in rupees was recorded minus 8.38 million while the difference in Percentage was minus 20.32 percent.

In term of withholding tax the house collected Rs 304.61 million against the previous year Rs 238.12 millio for June 2015. The difference in rupees was noticed minus 4.93 million while the difference in percentage was recorded minus 15.22 percent.

The performance of the house for the month of June 2016 was far better as compare to June 2015 in the previous financial year as handsome revenue generated in head of various duties.

The total collection figures are Rs 1926.58 million against Rs 1868.01 million previous May 2015 .The total difference in percentage was recorded 11.59 percent while difference in rupees was 154.11million.  The overall performance of the MCCP was recorded 13.12 percent difference and total revenue of the year was Rs 20119.10 million against 17894.10 million of the previous financial year.
