PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement foiled an attempt to smuggle 150 tons flour to Afghanistan on Wednesday.
Sources told Customs Today Collector Appraisement Ihsan Ali Shah received credible information regarding smuggling of wheat flour to Afghanistan via Jalal Abad. Following the information the customs anti-smuggling wing activated to thwart the attempt of smuggling. When, they flag down loaded trailer and after checking recovered 150 ton flour hidden below the maize corn bags.
The custom staff took the trailer in custody and started further investigation. It is not the first attempt of smuggling flour to Afghanistan and several times attempts were made to smuggle huge caches of flour to Kabul.
