PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Collector Asif Saeed Khan Lughmani lauded customs squad for seizure of foreign origin goods.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Preventive team has seized two Hino trucks EA-2532 and E-3772 loaded with more than 300 thans of foreign origin cloth, hundreds cartons of foreign origin cigarettes, toothpastes, fireworks, drugs including hashish and opium.
According to detail Customs Preventive squad at Frontier road intercepted a container bearing registration no: EA-2532 destined from Peshawar to Lahore. The Customs inspector Yusuf Khan inquired about GD forms and vehicle registration from the driver but he failed to provide any customs clearance evidence.
The driver was arrested and procedure against violating customs acts 1969 dealing import /export sections has been initiated. The driver also failed to produce document of the vehicle.
In another operation at GT Ternab a suspicious container E-3772 was intercepted by customs preventive staff. Upon inquiring about customs clearance they failed to provide any paper of vehicle laden container. The Customs Inspector Shamroz Khan checked the container which was loaded with hundred thans of foreign origin cloth. The driver along one another person was arrested for violation of customs acts of import/ export sections and was shifted to customs House Peshawar.
