Peshawar Customs Intelligence generates Rs21.5m till Jan27

ISLAMABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Peshawar has collected revenue Rs 21.5 million from January 1 to 27 while 20 cases registered of smuggled goods, non-duty paid and offending vehicle.

Director Muhammad Saleem told Customs Today that during said period the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and intelligence seized huge quantity of smuggled goods adding that, it collected revenue Rs10.5 million to seized miscellaneous goods. During above said period the Peshawar Customs Intelligence collected Rs5.2 million by impounded 07 vehicles involved in smuggling of goods (offending vehicles).

He said that during above mentioned period the directorate collected Rs5.8 million by seizing 05 non- duty paid vehicle adding that, these vehicles has impounded from different location under jurisdiction of Peshawar Intelligence.

Muhammad Saleem said that during 2nd half of FY16-17 (Oct to December) the directorate of intelligence collected revenue Rs77 million and registered 44 cases against smugglers of miscellaneous smuggled goods.

He said that during second half of FY 16-17 the Collectorate collected revenue Rs42 million by impounded 33 offending vehicle and registered FIRs against possessors adding that, it collected Rs40 million during 2nd quarter of financial year 2016-17 and registered 33 FIRs against possessors of non-duty paid vehicles.
