Peshawar Customs seizes heroin, charas worth millions of rupees

PESHAWAR: Peshawar Custom Officials foiled drugs smuggling bid and seized huge cache of heroin powder and 26 kilogram charas from a Bedford truck at Torkham Customs Station.

The officials arrested the alleged smugglers identified as Afghan Nationals Behram Khan, Bashir Khan and Gauhar Ali.

An official of Modern Custom Collectorate Peshawar told that market value of the seized heroin powder is Rs 15 million rupees, two million rupees of hashish and value of truck is one million rupees.

“Umair Mehmood Saddiqi, Assistant Collector Customs Station, Torkham received information that an attempt would be made to smuggled narcotics from Afghanistan to Pakistan via Custom Station Torkham”. However, he formed a team to foil the attempt of smuggling of narcotics and stopped a Bedford truck bearing Registration No. 9367-AJK and recovered narcotics worth of millions of rupees.
