PESHAWAR: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence Peshawar has recovered smuggled cloths and other goods worth of Rs 50 million from main GT Road.
Following a tip-off, Director Custom Intelligence raided various godowns in Haji camp area and recovered 56,000 yard cloths, LEDs, slim TVs, digital TVs, juicers, washington machines and tires of various brands. In another crackdown, customs intelligence and flagged down a trailer bearing registration number TCL 794.
After interrogation the driver does not showed legal documents of the goods which were comprising toothpaste, 6,400 Q Mobiles, TV sets, wielding rod, fed locks and soap which was coming from Afghanistan. Custom intelligence director Asghar Khan and deputy director Ziaullah Shams led the raids and started further investigations.
it is pertinent to mention here that few days ago the custom officers also sized precious falcons and recovered and later on handed over to wild life department. the custom officials has intensified their activities of after the appointment of new FBR chief Nesar Mohammad Khan
