Peshawar Customs surpasses April target by collecting Rs 1,362.66m

PESHAWAR: Customs Collectorate Peshawar surpassed its monthly target by collecting Rs 1362.66 million against previous year target of Rs 1123.80 million of April 2015.

According to reliable data collected from Peshawar Customs House, in head of customs duties Rs483.22 million were collected in April 2016 while the total collection of this month in previous year was Rs388.12 million which were less than 24.1 percent in percentage and 95.10 million in rupees.

In term of sale tax on import the house collected Rs344.57 against the figure of previous year of Rs305.47 million. The difference in rupees was recorded Rs39.10 million while the difference in percentage was recorded 12.80 percent.

In head of sales tax levied as federal excise duty on palm oil the custom house collected Rs173.03 million against April 2015 being recorded as Rs160.41 million rupees. The total difference in percentage in this section was recorded 7.87 percent while the difference in rupees is Rs12.62 million.

In head of federal excise duty on import the custom collectorate collected Rs18.12 million against the previous year of 2015 which was Rs15.62 million. The differences in rupees was recorded Rs2.50 million while the difference in percentage was 16.01 percent.

In term of withholding tax the house collected Rs303.82 million against the previous year Rs214.22 million of for April 2015. The difference in rupees was noticed Rs89.60 million while the difference in percentage was recorded 41.83 percent.

The performance of the house for the month of April 2016 was far better as compare to April 2015 in the previous financial year as handsome revenue generated under the head of various duties.

The total collection figures are Rs1362.66 million against Rs1123.80 million previous April. The total difference in percentage was recorded 21.25 percent while difference in rupees was Rs249.82 million.
