Peshawar Customs thwarts attempt to smuggle foreign origin goods

PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Collector Asif Saeed Khan lauded customs mobile squad for thwarting big attempt to smuggle non-duty paid goods.

Sources told Customs Today that anti-smuggling squad intercepted Mazda truck bearing registration no: LES-15-8595 while performing routine duty.

When the customs staff inquired about any document of purchase from the driver but he failed to provide any proof for legal procession of the foreign origin goods.

The seized items includes foreign origin polyester cloth 945 thans equals to 41500 yards 6057 kg, foreign origin jally cloth 56 thans, 740 yards 260 kgs, sitara cloth 16 thans, 720 yards 119 kgs was also seized.

Foreign origin Panasonic air conditioner out door unit Panasonic air conditioner indoor unit were also seized. Customs team seized the entire goods and vehicle and after registering a case started investigations.
