ISLAMABAD: The Customs Collectorate Peshawar will hold second auction of financial year 2016-17 on 8th of September 2016.
Deputy Collector Muhammad Amin told Customs Today that it will be the second auction of the year and hopefully the Collectorate will collect Rs 50 million through it.
He said that the people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Rawalpindi-Islamabad will participate in this auction and will buy different type of goods and vehicles.
He said that July 1 to August 30, 2016; the Collectorate collected Rs 21.62 million through auction of miscellaneous goods and during the same period in year 2015 the Collectorate collected Rs 10.51 million through auction.
The deputy collector said that during the month of August Customs Peshawar collected Rs 4.18 million sales tax through auction while during year 2015 the Collectorate collected Rs 2.19 million under the head of sales tax.
He said that during the month of August 2016 the collectorate collected additional income tax (AIT) under value of Rs 2.99 million and during the same period of year 2015 the collector collected Rs 1.89 million (AIT) through auction of vehicles and miscellaneous goods.
He said that Collectorate collected Rs 29.02 million of duty taxes during auctions hold in August 2016 and during the same period of year 2015 the Auction cell collected Rs 14.59 million in shape of duty, taxes.
Deputy Collector Amin said that under the supervision of Collector Qurban Ali Khan the Collectorate using all available resources to curb smuggling attempts in the region.
