Peshawar Excise starts crackdown against non-customs paid vehicles

PESHAWAR: Secretary Excise Riaz Khan Mahsood said that his department has launched crackdown against non custom paid vehicle and green numbers plates while the promotions of officers have been linked with their performance to improve the efficiency of the excise and taxation department.

He was talking to media persons after his meeting in Directorate of Excise and taxation department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. he also He said that the department is digitalizing various section of the excise and taxation department while property and motor vehicle registration system would further be improved to make it computerized.  He also stressed to chalk out future roadmap for bringing improvement in the department.

Addressing on the occasion Director General of the excise department Attif Mahmood said that they will recruit new staff to complete the shortage of human resources. He informed that they would also overcome the legal complication to bring new laws through legislation.

He maintained that the department will establish tax facilitation centre at each division level to provide facilities to facilitators at their doorstep. He also directed to start crackdown against non custom paid vehicles and fake number plates. He said that the entire staff will wear uniform and an inspector rank person would perform duty at road along with other staff.

He added that shoulder promotion has been stopped since today and those who are waiting departmental promotion would be provide their right after considering their lists.
