Peshawar I&I impounds huge quantity of pomegranate & hashish

PESHAWAR: Customs Intelligence and Investigation impounded 14110 kilograms pomegranate and 4800 gram hashish.

Deputy Director I&I Najib Arjumand told Customs Today that a truck loaded with pomegranate was intercepted after receiving credible information at Kharkhano check post which arrived from Torkham border.

The customs squad detected that GD shown by the truck driver is fake upon which he was arrested and truck along loaded fruit was taken to customs house Peshawar. The estimated market value of seized goods is Rs2.3 million.

In another operation on Peshawar Islamabad motorway a car was intercepted by I&I team upon prior tip off. The driver escaped but left the car behind. When the car was thoroughly checked high quality hashish approximately 4800 gram was found. The car and drugs were seized and taken to customs house Peshawar.
