Peshawar I&I recovers narcotics worth Rs12.5m during 1Q

PESHAWAR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations recovered Rs12.5 million narcotics during first quarter of Fiscal Year2018-19.

Director Dr. Arslan Subuctageen told Customs Today that during first quarter (July to September), the I&I Peshawar made huge crackdown against narcotics as well as registered FIR against the smugglers and arrested them.

He said that I&I seized 4.25 kilogram of opium worth Rs0.5 million, 17 kilogram of heroin worth Rs8.5 million as well as arrested three persons. He said that during the above said period the I&I seized 13 kilogram of heroin worth Rs6.8 million.

He said that Customs I&I earns Rs37.3 million through auction of non-duty paid goods and vehicles during first quarter of current Fiscal Year. He added that I&I showed 55% hike in revenue performance through auction during 1st Q FY18-19 against same period of correspondence FY17-18.
