Peshawar I&I seizes narcotics worth Rs64m

PESHAWAR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) have seized narcotics worth  Rs64 million and arrested two drug traffickers.

According to details, Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Dr. Akhtar Hussain received secret information regarding smuggling of narcotics. He immediately passed on it to Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) who established check-post at Kohat Road and intercepted a Bedford truck.

During the checking, the ASO team found and seized charas 54 packets (62 kgs) along with Bedford truck bearing no: E-1530-Mardan, near Kohat Road, Peshawar.

The ASO also arrested two accused namely Arsalan Arshad and Nouman Ali resident of Jhelum, the total value of seized charas worth Rs62 million and vehicle value Rs3 million.

The case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
