NEW DELHI: The Company’s CEO Pete Lau has now confirmed on Twitter that the new smartphone OnePlus 2 won’t cost more than $450. This works out to approximately Rs 28,500.
The device is slated to launch on 27 July and the expected price was touted to be more than $322 that is approximately Rs 20,500. So, this piece of news isn’t really surprising. Many tech enthusiasts are assuming it will be priced at $449. However, this would mean a way higher pricing tag than the One that carried a base price of $299 that translates to roughly Rs 19,000.
It was recently known that the OnePlus 2 may feature a metal build. The company has already confirmed Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, USB Type-C port, and fingerprint sensor. In a recent post, OnePlus also claims that the fingerprint sensor will be better than Apple’s implementation of TouchID.
After a successful launch of the OnePlus One flagship device and an exclusive agreement with Cyanogen, OnePlus is now trying out new and innovative ways of marketing its next flagship. The company has announced that the One Plus 2 would be launched on 27 July via the world’s first VR product launch. At Rs 99, OnePlus Cardboard VR headset is up for grabs.
