ISLAMABAD: The government has rejected the Ogra summery for increasing prices of petroleum products and kept their rates unchanged for the month of June.

“In line with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s policy of providing maximum relief to the people, it has been decided that the prices of petroleum products will not be increased on June 1st, 2016,” said an official statement issued by the Ministry of Finance.

The statement further said that the absorption of Rs. 6.69 per litre in HSD by the Federal Government would also help the provincial govts to ensure that there is no unnecessary price hike during Ramazan on this account.

The Ogra has proposed that the govt up to 9.22 per cent increase in the prices of petroleum products for the month of June.
