Peugeot latest virtual supercar concept to join Gran Turismo 6 line-up

PARIS: This is the latest virtual supercar concept to join the Gran Turismo 6 line-up: the Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo. Peugeot head of design Gilles Vidal has responded to the challenge from Kazunori Yamauchi the man behind the iconic driving game to create something special for the game’s 15th anniversary with a strikingly monolithic silhouette.

Standing just 1040mm tall (only 26mm taller than the Ford GT40 of the 1960s) the entire body shape is one big wing, with most of its aerodynamic features integrated into the body panels, “sweeping aside air resistance” (Vidal’s words, not ours) and effectively sticking the car to the road.

Its 3.2-litre turbo V6 is centrally mounted just behind the cockpit, delivering 648kW via a six-speed manual ‘box and permanent all-wheel drive system to 22-inch front and 23-inch rear alloys.

740KW PER TON

Kerb weight is only 875kg, giving it super-responsive steering and a phenomenal power-to-weight ratio of 740kW per ton, enabling the Vision to launch from standstill to 100km/h in 1.73 seconds – that’s an acceleration of more than 1.6g.

Braking is entrusted to Brembo 380mm front and 337mm rear ventilated carbon-ceramic disc brakes.

The Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo will be available to PlayStation 3 gamers in the very near future, in a choice of six colours, as part of a free update for Gran Turismo 6.
