PFA recovers 17,000 litres substandard juice, seals factories

LAHORE: Following the directions of Chief Minister Punjab to supply pure food to people in the province, a team of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) raided two factories where recovered and destroyed a big quantity of substandard juice and bottles.

Additional DG Operations of PFA, Rafia Hyder giving details said that following a tip that some factories situated in Vandilla Pind near Lahore and Qasur city producing forged bottles and substandard juice of different brands, the team conducted raids and recovered eleven thousands bottles of different brands and seventeen liters substandard juice from tow factories which later were destroyed on the spot.

The owners of the factories escaped from the scene, however, a case on the direction of the PFA team has been registered against the factory owners besides sealing the both factories.  The PFA has warned the manufacturers of edible items to act upon the regulations regarding hygienic matter otherwise stern action will be taken against them without any discrimination.
