RAWALPINDI: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has launched its campaign against substandard energy drink manufacturers in the province here on Tuesday.
The PFA sources told APP that the authority has started collecting samples to take action against violators of Punjab Pure Food Regulation 2017. He said the authority earlier gave warning to poor quality energy drink manufacturers till November 27 to make the manufacturing of their power drinks in line with PFA prescribed standards. However after the deadline ended, PFA special teams have begun to collect samples in various districts of the province.
He said PFA had ordered the energy drink manufacturers to make sure caffeine amount not to exceed 200mg/200PPM in the drinks, prohibition of energy drink label, instructions mentioned restricting children fewer than 12 years of age and pregnant women to take energy drink, no use of medicinal elements in the drinks and other orders to be fulfilled within three months.
