PFC delegation leaves for Hong Kong on 3-day visit

LAHORE: Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) delegation on Saturday left for Hong Kong on a three-day visit to explore new markets and fully exploit business opportunity abroad in furniture sector besides strengthening and promotion of existing bilateral trade relations.

While talking to journalists, PFC Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq said, “Our efforts will be to change the narrative about Pakistan. We want to convey the bright and soft image of Pakistan to investors based in Hong Kong in regard of emerging new opportunities of investment in Pakistan after functioning of CPEC. The PFC is interested in displaying made-in-Pakistan furniture items in Hong Kong to give the message to international buyers that Pakistan is a manufacturing hub of world class furniture. Highlighting PFC business outlook, he said that Pakistani furniture should be introduced in Hong Kong market more effectively. He said that Hong Kong and Pakistan should join hands to give a new strength to their trade and economic ties. Both have dynamic consumer markets and an unlimited scope for their businessmen, he added.

He said the business community wanted to develop close linkages with the business support organisations to ensure continuity in Pakistan’s efforts to increase the volume of trade between the two countries. He said that trade fairs and single country exhibitions can also be arranged on a reciprocal basis to achieve this goal, adding that all major exporters and importers in Hong Kong will also be invited to participate in three-day 6th International Interior Pakistan exhibition being organised by PFC at Expo Centre Lahore in Pakistan from November 25 this month.
