WARSAW: The CEO of Poland’s state-run gas firm PGNiG has said he expects it to win an arbitration case against Russian giant Gazprom over gas prices. “We expect to win in arbitration,” said PGNiG chief Piotr Woźniak, adding that a decision in the case is expected next summer. He added, however, that the Polish company is “ready for a sensible solution to the dispute with Gazprom before the decision of the Arbitration Tribunal.”
PGNiG has filed for arbitration with the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal in a dispute with Gazprom, a key gas supplier, seeking to change prices under a long-term contract signed in 1996. The Polish company says Gazprom should adjust the contract to reflect the situation on the European gas market.
