WASHINGTON: The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority Board has named a veteran of the maritime industry as its new CEO.
Jeff Theobald, who served most recently as president and CEO for Ports America Outer Harbor Terminal, which included the container terminal in San Francisco, will take over the post in August. He replaces James T. McDermott Jr., who retired in April.
The port authority’s board, in a statement, said that Theobald has expertise in terminal operations, international supply chains, strategic planning, contract negotiations, and financial controls that make him qualified for the job. In addition to his Ports of America stint, Theobald held positions for ocean carrier APL Ltd. and worked as a transportation consultant.
