ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner, Philip Barton paid a farewell call on Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar here on Monday.
Minister Dar on this occasion appreciated the High Commissioner’s contribution for fostering Pak-UK relations during his tenure and made special mention of the growth in bilateral economic cooperation.
Philip Barton said that encouraged by the economic turnaround achieved by it, more and more investors were now prepared to explore business opportunities in Pakistan. He said that trade volume between the two countries had also registered increase. He said Pak-UK economic cooperation had gathered good momentum and would continue to grow in future.
They also had discussion on the current profile of the Income Support Programme (BISP) for which the UK Government has been extending due assistance.
Philip Barton said that it has been a great honour for him to be the UK High Commissioner and he would always cherish the time spent in Pakistan. He also thanked the Finance Minister for the valuable support he received during his tenure.
Finance Minister wished Philip Barton the best in his future assignments.
