Canada and the Philippines will begin exploratory talks toward a bilateral free-trade agreement, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Friday.
Harper announced the launch of the talks at a news conference with Philippine President Benigno Aquino. The two countries will also work to upgrade their 1996 Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement.
