KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has adjourned the bail plea of a Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) employee who is allegedly involved in smuggling of cellular phones and foreign liquor into the country.
A single bench of the SHC comprising Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput adjourned the hearing to a date to be fixed later by the court office.
Fida Hussain, a PIA employee, approached the high court seeking his release after the Customs Court rejected his bail plea.
According to the prosecution, Fida Hussain was caught with 1,264 mobile phones and nine bottles of liquor at the Jinnah International Airport on November 25. Fida was intercepted at the arrival hall of the airport and the customs officers recovered nine bottles of liquor and 1,264 mobile phones when checked his bags. Subsequently, Fida was taken into custody and an FIR was registered against him.
