FAISALABAD: A large number of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees Wednesday protested against the proposed privatisation of the national-flag carrier.
The employees boycotted their duties and locked the offices. They gathered in front of PIA office and staged a sit-in. While holding banners and placards, they chanted slogans in favour of their demands and vowed to continue their protest till the withdrawal of privatization decision.
Speaking on the occasion, Air League of PIA Employees District General Secretary Shahid Inayat said that PIA was a profit-oriented airline which provided cheap air travel facility inside the country as well as abroad and it contributes substantially to the national kitty. He urged the government to take notice of the situation to resolve the issue on urgent basis.
