PIAF urgs traders to cooprate with FBR to control smuggling

LAHORE: Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) urged traders to support Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to stop smuggling of goods from different countries..

Chairman PIAF Irfan Iqbal Shiekh said that due to smuggling Pakistan facing loss of Rs 22 billion annually whih is huge deficit for economy of any country.

He said that FBR seeks support of intellegence agencies and Pakistan Army to extend support to overcome smuggling.

He urged that government need to intoduce long term policies to stop smuggling because Afghan Transit Trade become main reason to promote smuggling.

PIAF vice chairman  Tanvir Ahmed Sufi said decrease in customs duty can reduce the smuggling, imports through proper channels will strengthen nation economy.
