ISLAMABAD: New liver transplant will be installed at the cost of Rs 13.5 million in a new building at PIMS in federal capital.
PC-1 of installation of new plant project has been sent to authorities concerned for approval. This new centre will have capacity of 30 patients and will provide the facility of liver transplantation of two patients at a time.
The old liver transplant was a flopped project; therefore, it was closed down. This project will go functional within two years.
At present liver transplantation is being conducted only in Agha Khan Hospital at Karachi. The services of foreign doctors will be hired to run this liver transplant center.
