TEHRAN: Iran has exported €232 million worth of pistachios to the European markets in 2016 to register a five percent rise compared to 2015, the European Union’s statistics agency Eurostat was cited by Tasnim news agency on Saturday.
The country had exported €220 million worth of the commodity to Europe in 2015; Germany, Spain and Greece have been the leading importers of Iran’s pistachios. The U.S. was the top exporter of pistachio to Europe in 2016 with €370 million worth of the product being exported from the country to the European markets.
