The FBR has focused on three basic and main points for effective implementation on Income Tax Ordinance and other tax laws through enforcement. He has proposed that the FBR needs to concentrate on registration of new taxpayers, stop filers and effective monitoring of budgetary measures.

This plan will be presented to the Chairman FBR, Tariq Mehmood Pasha, in the next week. After his approval, it will be presented in the meeting of the board in the council.

Sources told CT that Dr. Bashir Ullah has suggested that all the RTOs will expedite the process to identify and register new taxpayers with the help of the Broadening Tax Base (BTB). The tax filers, who file their tax returns for just taking the benefits of filers after getting the advantages, are called stop filers. The Regional Tax Offices will locate the stop filers and urge them to file their tax returns.
