ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given directions to the Ministry of Water and Power to present a technical report on the breakdown of electricity within 48 hours.
Chairing a meeting to review matters related to power situation here at the PM’s House, the prime minister directed to put in place a comprehensive system that prevents such power breakdowns in future. He also directed the law enforcement agencies to ensure security of high transmission lines.
Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif briefed the prime minister on the factors that caused the massive breakdown and updated him on the current power supply situation in Pakistan. He said that the situation was gradually improving and soon the system would be brought back to normal. Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar was present.
