PM Khan directed related officials to immediately take steps to rectify the situation. The Prime Minister’s Office advised all provincial chief secretaries and the chief commissioner of Islamabad to take measures right away to control the inflation.

In a letter issued by the PM’s Office, the officials have been asked to initiate a special campaign to control inflation, hoarding, and other related irregularity.

The letter further said providing relief to the people was the field administration’s basic responsibility, yet a lack of shared linkages between related officials was creating problems for the public.

PM Khan further advised that a plan of action should promptly be made for effective implementation of the laws pertaining to keeping inflation in control.

Khan also directed the related institutions to take action against elements jacking up prices without any reason and those who hoard in order to pump up demand, thereby further fueling inflation.
