NEW YORK: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday invited Pakistani business personalities and professionals based in the United States to invest in Pakistan, assuring them that the government was providing a conducive environment to promote investment and business activities.
The prime minister, while meeting delegations of Pakistani business personalities and professionals associated with information technology, artificial intelligence, automobiles, energy, construction and other sectors, said business personalities and professionals were Pakistan’s ambassadors who, through their positive contributions around the world, enhanced the country’s image.
He said reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had helped address the issues faced by the business community.
The prime minister said the government was also taking measures on a priority basis to promote innovation in the agricultural sector for the development of the country’s agriculture.
The business and professional delegations appreciated the reforms and initiatives being undertaken under the Prime Minister’s leadership in agriculture, industry and exports, particularly the reforms in the FBR.
Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Bilal Bin Saqib, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Ahmed Sheikh, Prime Minister’s Spokesperson for Foreign Media Musharraf Zaidi, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Chairman Syed Qamar Raza, Managing Director Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Afzaal Bhatti and relevant senior officials also attended the meetings.
