PM to announce financial relief package for KP businessmen soon: FPCCI chief

PESHAWAR: Newly elected President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Ghazanfar Bilour has reiterated his commitment to resolving the issues of business community on priority and claimed that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abassi will announce a fresh fiscal relief package soon for the business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This he stated while speaking at a reception hosted by Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in his honour on Saturday. During the function, United Business Group (UBG) senior leader Senator Ilyas Bilour, SCCI President Zahidullah Shinwari, members of executive committee and presidents of various chambers were also present.

The FPCCI chief said the refund issue of the business community would be resolved soon adding all the chambers and business community entrusted the resolution of the problem to him for which he would come up to their expectations.

He also said the suggestion has been put forward before the federal government to increase the value of local currency against the dollar. He said a better coordination would be ensured amongst all the chambers including the SCCI. He said the formulation of business-friendly policies in consultation with the business community comes on the top of their priorities.

“I will leave no stone unturned in resolving the problems being confront by small and big traders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular and rest parts of the country in general because the interest of my province is dearest to me”, he claimed.

Ghazanfar also urged the minister to take measures for revitalization of industry as it will generate employment opportunities, and also withdraw Withholding Tax what he termed against the interest of the business community, and is also discouraging the traders from depositing their capital in the banks.

Zahid Ullah Shinwari, President SCCI in his address, thanked Ilyas Bilour, UBG central leadership, members of Haripur, Swat, Dir and Bajaur Chambers of Commerce and Industry, office-bearers of traders’ associations who played a vital role in the election and victory of Ghazanfar Bilour as President FPCCI.
