PMEX index closes at 3,404 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited’s commodity index on Wednesday closed at 3,404 points, with the traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX recorded at Rs 6,807 billion.  The number of lots traded was 14,789.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to Rs 2.447 billion, followed by currencies through COTS Rs 2.117 billion, WTI crude oil Rs 651.849 million, DJ Rs 540.362 million, silver Rs 391.249 million, NSDQ100 Rs 244.279 million, platinum Rs 201.844 million, natural gas Rs 93.911 million, copper Rs 62.389 million, SP500 Rs 35.785 million and Brent crude oil Rs 21.375 million. In agricultural commodities 57 lots of cotton amounting to Rs 25.890 million were traded, said press release on Thursday.
