Power and water minister assures business community that load shedding would be ended until December 2017
SIALKOT: The PML-N government’s positive economical policies were restoring the confidence of the national and foreign investors, said Power and Water Minister Khawaja Asif.
He said the PML-N government’s positive economical policies were restoring the confidence of the national and foreign investors and national economy was moving ahead towards economical stability.
He said this while addressing a meeting of the Sialkot-based traders, industrialists, importers and exporters held at the Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) after inaugurating SDPT chowk near Sambrial.
SDPT President Ishaq Butt, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Fazal Jillani, SVP Mir Alamgir Meyer, Sheikh Abdul Waheed Sandal, Dr Muhammad Aslam Dar, Khawaja Zakauddin, Khawar Anwar Khawaja Arif Mehmood Sheikh, Sheikh Iqbal and heads and representatives of Sialkot’s main trade bodies were also present on this occasion.
He said that the federal government was successfully implementing effective and positive economical policies, which were now bearing fruits. He also reaffirmed to complete the past economical development agenda of the PML-N.
The minister said that the intensity of the prolonged energy crisis was reducing day by day in the country. He assured the business community that the power load shedding would be brought to an end until end of 2017.
He linked the national economical prosperity to political stability. He added that the national economy was moving in the right direction towards the goal of political and economical stability, saying that the country needed the development of the human resources for the continuous economical growth as well.
The minister revealed that the PML-N government has successfully halted the economical downslide due to which the national economy was recovering day by day, as the government was successfully recovering the sick economy of Pakistan through restoration of confidence of the national and foreign investors.
The government was strengthening the national institutions, he added. The minister termed Sialkot as a “jewel in the national economy”, saying that Sialkot was an engine for boosting the national economy. He highly hailed the unique export culture of Sialkot.
Asif added that the government was fully aware of the prolonged perturbing problems of the business community and making all-out sincere efforts for their amicable solution. He said that the government was also strengthening national economy and boosting the industrial structure, besides, striving to overcome the menace of the prolonged persisting energy crisis.
He said that the reforms agenda by the PML-N would be a milestone in achieving economic stability, exterminating corruption, strengthening the institutions and solving the problems of the people.
The minister said that the government was fully aware of the problems being faced by the business community of the country and the government was striving and making all out sincere efforts to ensure the early amicable solutions to these problems on priority, saying that business community was backbone of the national economy, which had been playing a pivotal role in boosting the national economy.
Talking to reporters, he said that this reforms agenda could salvage the country from political and financial crisis provided it is followed in letter and spirit.
“Execution of this agenda can also help in reducing the inflation, controlling prices and stabilizing the economy”, he maintained.
He said that the reforms agenda seeks to combat corruption, inflation and bad governance which are posing serious challenge to the political and social stability. He urged that the government needed to improve the governance and it was inevitable to cut down the expenditures and increase and optimize the resources, which would ultimately guarantee economic stability in the country.
Asif hailed the Sialkot exporters for establishing Asia’s first ever airport in private sector. He said that the airport also has a huge potential of cargo exports by the international airlines, which had been offering the lucrative air freight packages.
He added that the Sialkot exporters had been earning precious foreign exchange to the tune of $1.8 billion annual, besides, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the national economy and boosting the national exports as well.
