LAHORE: Amid deepening political and economic crisis, PML-Q leader Khawaja Rameez Hassan stated that economic improvement is impossible without significant changes in governance, adding that the systemic failure in the country has emanated from violation of merit and promotion of nepotism.

In a press statement, PML-Q leader said social unrest and unemployed youth constitute the most effective weapon for external forces against the state.

He said an established and effective system of technical education—rather than formal education is a pressing need of the hour. The establishment of skills training centers, at least at the Union Council level, could prove significantly helpful in alleviating societal unemployment and deprivation.

He noted that society faces a stark disparity where the wealthy prosper while the poor are forced to live below the poverty line. The capitalist system has alienated the downtrodden classes to such an extent that they are compelled to direct their immediate backlash against the state itself.

He remarked that the current mode of governance reflects the perpetuation of power and the monopolization of state resources by a few families. Massive electoral constituencies and the prevailing electoral processes lie at the root of these administrative issues; the current system makes it impossible for the common man to reach elected representatives to voice grievances or seek solutions.

He emphasized that the devolution of power to the grassroots level and ensuring the common man’s access to higher echelons of authority are indispensable for systemic reform.

PML-Q leader advised patriotic circles to establish new administrative units as a means of reforming the system cannot be ignored under any circumstances.
