LAHORE: PML-Q Punjab president Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has asked the government to restore PIA flights for Barcelona (Spain) and Hong Kong. The flights were closed down by the government due to losses. He further stated that two hundred thousand Pakistanis were living in Spain, and PIA could not suffer losses at a station where this great number of Pakistanis were living.
He said that the staff was being paid salaries and other expenses including rents, whereas the flights have been closed.
He added that overseas Pakistanis were facing lot of problems particularly bringing the dead bodies to Pakistan due to closure of the flights and the government should provide facilities to overseas Pakistanis instead of creating problems for them.
On PML-Q leader’s demand, PAC chairman Khurshid Shah had raised the issue of flights for Barcelona in a letter written to the Prime Minister and the government was expected to take action regarding closure of flights for Barcelona.
