ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) is set to launch a coastal service between Karachi and Gwadar and Karachi and Port Qasim.
The decision to this effect was taken at a recent meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasal Khan Bazinjo.
According to the sources, the minister has directed PNSC Chairman Arif Elahi to take steps to implement the plan without further delay. The meeting recognized the importance of having a national merchant fleet as it provides essential capability for the movement of seaborne cargo in war time or other national emergencies.
