KARACHI: Sindh Secretary for Transport, Taha Farooqui said on Thursday that intra-city bus fares would be slashed by five percent with immediate effect. “Fares have to be slashed in proportion to the reduction made in the POL rates,” he said.
Sharing details of the meeting with the transporters in his office the same morning, he said the discussion was focused to provide relief to the commuters.
In reply to a question, Farooqui said he was conscious of the problems faced by the passengers, with specific reference to maintenance of the vehicles on the roads.
